Meeting Pop Pop

Despite the sad circumstances, we had a fabulous time in Florida from Friday through Monday, and we took many pictures of the family (minus Kevin and Courtney), especially of the youngest member, of course.

Here she is, meeting her great-grandfather (her Pop Pop) for the first time:

Grandma

Today, sadly, Jim's mother/Jamie's grandmother/Brenna's great grandmother passed away.

She lived a very long, wonderful life with a husband (Pop) who took such great care of her and loved her so very much.

Because they lived in Florida, I didn't get to spend enough time with her in the years Jamie and I have been together, but I am personally thankful for the way she raised her son (my father-in-law, Jim), because together with Pop, she obviously taught him how to love his wife and his family. And Jim passed that on to Jamie. And Brenna and I benefit from that every day.

So, thanks to her, my wonderful husband and my sweet baby are here, and without her influence, they would not be the people they are. So, I sincerely am grateful to her for that.

I do not want to post her name online for privacy reasons, but she was born in 1916, and would have been 92 this coming April.

Grandma, thank you for all that you began! It will continue through Brenna, your first little girl. I promise you that.

I only wish we made it down there, so that you and Brenna could have met in person, but I know that you will watch over her as she grows, along with the many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren yet to come. They have quite an example to follow...

Wasn't she beautiful?

God bless you, Grandma!

Eight Month Skills

Boyfriend/Girlfriend?

So, my sister Kelly met a young man named Ian at my cousin Kevin's wedding in December, and now both of their myspace staus lines have changed from "Single" to "In a Relationship."

Interesting development.

I think they are going to send each other Valentines, if you know what I mean. Bow-chicka-wow-wow.

You don't know what I mean? Yeah, me either.

Oh, and Ian is Jamie's new New York Giants boyfriend. So, I think there are multiple new relationships forming. If Jamie watches Love Actually with Ian and proposes to him while pictures of the two of them pop up instead of the movie, I just wanted to tell Ian that he's sloppy seconds to me.

Eight Months Old Today!

I took these over the weekend of Brenna in the outfit we brought her home from the hospital in. Eight months went so fast!

If I ever gain about 12 pounds and think that's not a big deal, I will refer to this picture of my daughter in pants vs. shorts and realize that amount of weight is a really big difference :)

Jealous?

Pssst... Maura, come in the tunnel only big girls play in.
I have a secret.

I think your new little brother thinks he's pretty cute because he's only three days old.

They all have him wrapped around their fingers.

I mean, what is so special?

Okay, I admit it, he is cute!

The Ballet Dancer

Less than two weeks ago, I posted pictures of Brenna as a ballerina. Maura wore her ballet pajamas for the first time last night, and when I asked her if she was another ballerina, she made it very clear that she was not. She was a ballet DANCER. I tried to explain that they were the same thing, but there was no point. She is a dancer.

She then asked me to take her pictures, and she happily posed (I've created a monster) for me and my dad while I snapped away.

My dad told her to do this. He is a great influence :)

Later on as she was being put to bed in her ballet dancer pajamas, Maura told Erin, Rob and my mom that she's just, "Soooooo tired. Tired of being good."

It's not a free ride at our house

Brenna learned a lot from her sick days between Thanksgiving and New Years (RSV, ear infections, upper respiratory infection, eye goop, teething, etc.) She got a lot of attention, a lot of cuddling, and a lot of special alone time with Mommy and Daddy.

So, the faker sometimes tries to pretend she's sick again for the perks. She coughs for about two hours and then forgets to cough again.

After her lies, we put her to work as punishment.

(Just kidding, but these pictures were too cute not to post. )

Bobby's Homecoming

January 21, 2008
Bobby comes home.

I know there is a baby in there.
I don't care how short I am, I will get to him!

Oh, there he is. Hi, baby!

Gram and Po now have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
Guess which ones they like better?

My nephew, Pierre, the French waiter.

I can only hope that as our family grows, all of our pictures are this attractive.

Poor Jamie. That face Brenna is making above is the face that his family refers to as the "Uh-Duh Jamie Face." It was inherited, she can't help it :).
