Graceful Ballerina

Our little ballerina enjoys taking crawling tours of our house now. She stops only to stretch her muscles and admire framed pictures of herself on the wall.

So much fun!

Since I've been slacking for a few days, I'm catching up tonight!

Brenna has come very far in the last few weeks. Check out all she can do at 7.5 months (the first two are short videos of her crawling and pulling up, and laughing, of course). As you can see from the pictures, she's even letting go of things and has the very beginning thoughts of wanting to walk!

Now, if she'd just cheer up during dinner, we'd be set.

(You have to double click the play button to watch these two videos. Please try to ignore our high pitched squealing. She reacts well to it, but it does not come across so well when recorded!).

I call this a face only a mother could love...

Still hates food.

Look, no hands!

You want me to come to you... by myself?

Okay, I'll give it a shot!

Not quite yet, but she's only 7.5 months!

She's such a happy baby, we been having so much fun with her lately!

Second Flu Shot

Yesterday Brenna got her second flu shot, and she handled it like a seasoned pro at the doctor's office.

She made a two-year-old friend in the waiting room (poor little girl was in a car accident and her neck was hurt) and ignored the two babies there for their four-month appointments - juveniles!

But, it must have been an act for the big girl because as soon as we got home she wanted me to know the horribleness of it all...

The Ducky Bath

A few weeks ago, we transitioned Brenna from her infant tub to her older baby ducky tub (that matches her duck themed bathroom).

Bathtime has not been the same since. She used to lay back and relax as part of her bedtime routine, but now bathtime = wild play time!

Duck out of the water! Duck out of the water!

Like her awkward one tooth smile?

Christmas Cleanup

Jamie took the tree down this morning, and we put away the Christmas decorations :(.

Okay, I'm lying. The ornaments are still all over the dining room table, and there are boxes everywhere, but we started the process, and I'll finish it tomorrow.

While we were busy, Brenna was mad at us. She wanted our attention, and she wanted to be held. She obviously had absolutely nothing to entertain her.

No, seriously, I think these pictures are hysterical, but how did this happen? I'm not trying to raise that bratty, spoiled kid from the Toys R Us commercials! Santa only bought 7 of the toys in this picture - the rest are from relatives.

Aunt Janine came over this week to give Brenna and Maura their Christmas presents, and Brenna's was the Fisher Price Sing Along Stage. The only thing she didn't have! Now she really does have everything.

But she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her newest toy. I think she takes after Jamie. They both performed a Jay-Z/Beyonce song this week...

3.5 months is the new 21

I used to think that people look the best they ever do in their lives when they are in their early twenties, but I think I was wrong.

I now think you can't get any cuter than 3.5 months. My best friend, Kelly, sent me new pictures of her son, Benjamin, who is 3.5 months old.

I always wondered what the child of my freckled, red-head friend and her mainly Asian looking husband would look like. And it turns out, the answer is the cutest little boy ever!

Even if his Christmas card did have him wearing a Giants jersey (they live in New York), how cute is little Benny?! I could just eat him up.

There is a lot to be said for this 3.5 month theory. The best pictures I ever took of Brenna were from early September when she was 3.5 months old (a few weeks before I started this blog). This first picture is the one picture I have blown up of her, hanging in my living room.

I love these because she was obviously pretty cute, but I also love them because it marked a time when she was sooooo happy.

Brenna was colicky from 3 weeks until 3 months, and then in mid-late August, she finally stopped crying! She all of a sudden was happy with everything. She learned to roll over both ways in early September, and we had this new baby on our hands who belly laughed and smiled all the time. These pictures captured the new Brenna. She's been smiling for the past four months, but I'll always remember that 3.5 months was pretty great!

It just keeps getting better, Kelly... Benny is adorable!

Happy New Year!

In honor of our last day of the long Christmas-New Year vacation, we took Brenna to Bahama Breeze with Mike, Camille, Courtney and Ryan. She enjoyed Gerber fruit puffs (and the blue light hanging above our table) and denied her applesauce as usual.

Back to work and daycare tomorrow :(

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

This was before bed last night. Maura wanted to say Happy New Year to a bunch of people:

I corrected Maura when she said Happy Birthday at one point instead of Happy New Years, but she was actually right! Here are some more pictures of the girls before bed:

Brenna even decided to wake up three hours later to watch the ball drop.

Happy 2008!
